Here is what you will find in this section of our website:
University of Oregon TEFL Teacher Training Videos. Fourteen of them! Filmed in real classrooms with real teachers and real students. Not the staged videos you will see in other programs. These are true professionals demonstrating to you the best practices in TEFL.
eHow TEFL Training Video. A great introduction to teaching English to adults.
How to Teach English Podcast Library. Ten excellent podcasts you can download and listen to anytime anywhere. These are down to earth conversations about everything you need to know to be the best teacher possible. These podcasts are short and refreshing and will quickly build your confidence. Topics include How to teach reading, writing, listening, pronunciation and even business English. Also included are segments on student motivation, discipline in the classroom, correcting student errors, demonstration lessons and "edutainment". Finally the basics of TEFL methodology and TEFL lesson planning are explained friendly fashion that will have you easily understanding material that is usually thought of as being complex and difficult to learn.
The podcasts vary from about five minutes to eighteen minutes, and most are in the six-to-eight minute range. You will find them short, friendly and conversation and the best and easiest way to really get to the meat of TEFL.
Special note for the podcasts: If you have any problem with them not showing up on the page or not working correctly, just try a different browser. They tend to work very well in the latest versions of Windows Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. FireFox works well in some versions and not so well in others.
Finally we have page of recommended TEFL resources, usually material we have produced. We also have a page of TEFL acronyms which helps explain the alphabet soup of TEFL TESOL TESL, TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, ESP and much more.
