The TEFL/TESOL Program
Our TEFL/TESOL course in Ho Chi Minh City comprises 150 hours of in-class study over 4 weeks, including 20 hours of hands-on teaching experience with Vietnamese students engaged in on-going English language classes.
The course meets and exceeds all international standards. Certificates are accepted without question, worldwide.
The teacher trainers are native speakers of English, are degree-qualified, hold recognized TESOL/TEFL (Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language) qualifications and are carefully selected for their experience and friendly personalities.

After completing our 4-week program in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be:

The TEFL teacher training course in Ho Chi Minh City is open to all nationalities, including non-native speakers.
For native speakers, a degree or diploma is not required to participate in the TEFL course.
Non-native speakers are required to have a bachelor's degree or better and to have a Skype interview before acceptance into the program and offer of the job guarantee.

A police clearance and authentication of your documents (clearance, degree, photocopies, etc.) will be required at the time of your employment. We can help you with the process.
Class size is limited, be sure to book your course at least 30-60 days in advance. Some classes book up quite early.

The total program costs US$1649 and includes accommodation for the four weeks of the course and all materials.
To get started you pay a deposit of US$399 to guarantee your seat in the course on the date you choose.
The balance of your course tuition ($1250) is due ten days before the starting date of your classes in Ho Chi Minh City.

You can be assured that there are many more English teaching positions available in Vietnam than there are TESOL qualified people to fill the positions. Most TESOL TEFL graduates start teaching immediately after the course finishes. Our hit rate with employment over the past 5 years has been brilliant because we know where there are teaching jobs available at a given time and schools know we run a quality TESOL TEFL course.
TEFL jobs in Vietnam for foreigners (native English speakers) pay an average of $15.00 per hour. Some teachers earn less working in rural areas where the cost of living is also less. Others earn up to $25.00 per hour teaching at universities, colleges and in the corporate sector.
Most teaching jobs in Vietnam for foreigners require 20 to 30 classroom hours per week. You can be assured there are more positions available teaching English than there are people to fill the positions – many times over.
While the hourly rate of pay for teaching jobs in Vietnam for foreigners is important, it needs to be balanced against the cost of everyday expenses. By any measure, Vietnam is a very cheap place to live.
Typically, ESL teaching jobs in Vietnam for foreigners deliver a take home salary somewhere between US $1,000.00 and US $2,000.00 per month, depending on where the teacher works and how many hours they work. Jobs in Vietnam for foreigners are taxable at a rate of approximately 20%, but most employers quote and pay a net salary and then deal the Taxation Department on your behalf.
With the cost of living in Vietnam being so low, teachers are able to save up to half of their income or even more without cutting corners. Teaching English as a second language in Vietnam certainly provides stable, ongoing employment that pays a decent income and allows for an excellent lifestyle.
This TESOL TEFL program comes with free, western standard accommodation within a five- minute walk of the training centre, either in one of our own residential properties or in a local hotel. Each TESOL TEFL Vietnam trainee is allocated their own, fully furnished bedroom and a private bathroom.
The facilities and fixtures in each bedroom include: air conditioning, WIFI, a double bed, lockable wardrobe, desk, swivel chair and a bedside table. Our TESOL TEFL students also have access to kitchen and laundry facilities. We want to make sure your living conditions are comfortable while you are completing the 4-week TESOL Vietnam program.
There is no doubt about it. You will have all the benefits of Western standard accommodation but in a typical Vietnamese residential street, surrounded by local people – and your TESOL classmates.
The course is 150 hours in total over four weeks. The time commitment in weeks 1, 2 and 3 is mainly Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.00pm. During weeks 1, 2 and 3, you will also have class observation and teaching practice commitments some evenings and perhaps on a weekend or two. We set the time for these classes by mutual agreement.
In week 4, the focus of the TESOL TEFL Vietnam program is on providing support with completing the necessary assessment tasks.
On average there are 12 to 14 students in each course. Students who enroll in the course come from all corners of the world with around 30% being non-native English speakers.
You will be assessed from the first day of the course – punctuality, attitude and input are really important in the teaching profession. In weeks 2 and 3 you will complete the practical part of the course – 8 hours of classroom observation and 12 hours of critical assessed teaching practice. With your teaching practice classes, you need to produce quality lesson plans that are suitable for teaching in Vietnam. In week 4, you need to submit 2 written assignments: 1. a 1500 word essay on the importance of motivation; and 2. a 1500 word outline of a ‘new’ English language course.
TEFL jobs in Vietnam for foreigners are available in rural, regional and city locations. In rural and regional areas, fully-furnished accommodation is often part of the employment agreement. In the event you need to pay for your housing, furnished, Western-style accommodation is readily available in the larger cities for around US $280.00 per month. Accommodation in the country-side is even cheaper.
It’s possible to eat in a restaurant anywhere in Vietnam, 3-times a day, 7-days a week and still have change from US $70.00.
Local beer is 30 cents for a 500ml bottle – it’s a bit rough, but you do get used to it. You will only pay around 25 cents for a local bus ride and $3.50 for a 45 minute journey on a motorbike taxi. Western-style coffee in a decent coffee shop costs around US $1.00 and an ice cream in a cone is 50 cents. You can see a new release movie at a modern cinema in Ho Chi Minh City for US $3.00, or go bowling for even less.
The low cost of living makes jobs in Vietnam for foreigners a very attractive proposition indeed. It is possible to save money and move forward with your life, personally and professionally.
